No less than USEC Ramon C. Bacani came to the cities of Carcar and Bogo for their weaning from their mother division, as he put it.
The Sports Centers of both cities teemed with guests for a twofold event, the inauguration of interim divisions and the installation of their respective schools division superintendents.
Not minding the muscle-aching rides in multi-colored vehicles, USEC Ramon C. Bacani, Dir. Carolino B. Mordeno, Asst. Dir. Recaredo G. Borgonia, Congressman Eddie R. Gullas, Mayors Patrick Bacenas of Carcar City and Celestino Martinez Jr. of Bogo City, division superintendents, division and district supervisors, school heads and teachers all and sundry came to grace the historical occasion.
In his speech, USEC Bacani urged those school officials present to take actions and employ measures on how to increase participation rate, reduce drop-out rate and improve academic performance which would be considered as major factors in promotions.
Armed with that deep-seated longing for independence in terms of managing their own school affairs and enjoying their lion’s share in the DepED budget, city dwellers concerned came, satiated their thirst and became a part of this undertaking which marked an etch in the history of both Carcar and Bogo cities.
At the same time, the involvement of local government officials affirms what USEC Bacani said which goes, “Education is a societal responsibility, not just of the school authorities”.
