2012 White Can Safety day

The 23rd white Can Safety day celebration will be observed on August 1, 2012 pursuat to Republic Act No 6759 entitled White Cane safety day with the thme Making the Rights Real Right Now for the Visually Impaired. This supporst the effort of Pres. B. Aquino III on good governance through respect and realization of Human Rights

The celebration which is the first activity of the Sigh Saving Month Celebration in August aims to

a. stiulate public awareness on the rights and welfare of blind persons

b. Promote recognition and acceptance of the white cane as symbol of moility for blind persons

c. serve as a vehicle of information on the program being implemented by the government and non-govt organization which adhre to the promotion of the welfare of visually impaired pwerson and

d. promote and protect the physical, moral and social well being of blind persons.
